The hand-held MK54 Dual Shock Tube initiating device has been in use with US Special Operations Forces and other DoD users. Its primary use is to initiate non-electric firing systems such as Shock Tube or Non-el with a dual redundancy system to ensure 100% initiation. The MK54 has been in service for approximately 20 years and has undergone 2 MODS. It can be configured with Brass Adapters for use with Commercial Shock- Tube. The MK54 Mod 2 has been modified for use in explosive breaching applications.
